<br />Temple of Zeus (v2)
<br />
<br />The temple was consecrated in 456 B.C. at the beginning of the 81st Olympiade and was housing the 13m high ivory and gold statue of Zeus that belonged to the seven wonders of the ancient world (not included here).

<br />Version 2 is not really correct for it is a completely new model (you can find it in the museums menu). If you like the older version, you can find it here

<br />Tholos of Asklepios (Epidauros, Greece)
<br />
<br />The tholos was a circular temple devoted to Asklepios. It was constructed by the
<br />architect Polykleitos of Argos, 360 - 330 bce.
<br />For Asklepios is the god of healing etc. this bat serves as hospital and can be found there.
<br />

<br />or the Temple of deified Julius Ceasar, Forum Romanum.
<br />Built around 42 bce by order of Augustus. The little altar in front of the temple is supposed to be the place where Ceasar's body was burned. &quot;Today&quot; it serves as a library.
<br />

<br />As usual - no special interest in props. So feel free to change them ;)

<br />And here the Temple of another two deified Imperatores ;)
<br />The temple is situated next to Aedes Concordiae and behin Aedes Saturni in the north-western corner of Forvm Romanvm.
<br />It was built and dedicated Vespasian in 79 bce, and two years later also dedicated to Titus.
<br />Now a landmark ;))

<br />The Curia was the meeting place of the roman senators. The construction of Curia Julia started under Julius Ceasar (after whom it was named) after the Curia Hostilia burned down in 52 bce. It was finished August 28th 29ce under Emperor Augustus.
<br />At the beginning of the 7th century it became a church - this probably saved the building from being used as quarry.
<br />

<br />The building on the left is the Secretarium Senatus.

<br />Built in 141 c.e. After his death it was also dedicated to him.
<br />The building can still be seen on the Forum today (as church St. Lorenzo in Miaranda).

<br />Aedes Vestae and Atrivm Vesta (Temple of Vesta &amp; House of the Vestal Virgins)

<br />This is the Temple of the Holy Fire and the place where the Palladium was kept (an archaic statue of Minerva). The fire - so the story goes - was brought to Rome by Aeneas and was supposed to be of the fire which destroyed Troi.
<br />

<br />The Temple itself burned down a couple of times (not really surprising).

<br />This Temple introduced the Greek cult of the dioscuri into Rome. Legend goes that Castor and Pollux helped the losing the Roman troops to victory in 496 bce. Aulus Postumius Albinus, vowed to build a temple in their honour (which was finished in 484 bce).
<br />
<br />
<br />In 14 bce the temple was destroyed by a fire that ravaged major parts of the forum, and it was rebuilt by Tiberius. It was dedicated in 6 ce. In Roman Republic it was used as meeting place for the senate. During the Empire this temple was the home of the office for weights and measures, and was a depository for the State treasury.

<br />
<br />It was the last of the great civilian basilicas on the Roman Forum.
<br />
<br />
<br />The construction of the basilica as initiated by Maxentius in 308 ce, and finished by Constantine after he had defeated Maxentius in the battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312 ce. As other similar buildings, it was destined for commercial and administrative activities. It is likely that this basilica was the highest imperial official in late antiquity.

<br />The Basilica Aemilia (or Basilica Fulvia-Aemilia) is largest—and the only surviving—of the basilicas of the Roman Republic.

<br />The Basilica Aemilia was first built in 179 bce by the censors M. Aemilius Lepidus and M. Fulvius Nobilior. In the following centuries it was actively maintained and improved by the gens Aemilia. Between 55 bce and 34 bce it was completeley reconstructed. The building was destroyed by a fire in 14 bceand was rebuild by Augustus.

<br />It was probably a temple for Romulus, the son of emperor Maxentius, but it has also been identified as the Temple of Iupiter Stator and as the sanctuary of the Penates Publici. The twoapsidal rooms on the sides might have been a sanctuary to the Penates.

<br />The smaller one &quot;Torre Garisendi&quot; used to be 61m high but was cut down to 48m due to security reasons in around 1350 (its top leans about 3.2m towards San Vitale).

<br />The taller &quot;Torri delgi Asinelli&quot; built in the 13th century is 97m high and its top leans about 2m into the other direction over Via Rizzoli.

<br />Both towers are packed into one zip-file but can be plopped seperately.
